Saturday,
April 9th 2005, Dr. David Rankin, president of Southern Arkansas
University (SAU) in Magnolia, welcomed to SAU and Magnolia over 170
timberland owners representing 300,000 acres and forestry
professionals managing over four million acres. Landowners traveled
to Magnolia from as far away as Virginia Beach, Virginia; Orlando,
Florida and La Porte, Texas.The
historical attendance occurred at SAU’s new Donald W. Reynolds
Building for the “2005 Forest Landowner Clinic” by Arkansas Forestry
Association (AFA) Education Foundation hosted by Reynolds Forestry
Consulting of Magnolia. Mary Ann Halsey with AFA provided an
appreciation plaque to Colleen Morphew with Reynolds Forestry for
coordinating and hosting the successful meeting. Steve Nipper,
BancorpSouth President and Director of the Blossom Festival, was
also on hand to invite the landowners back in May for the Magnolia
Blossom Festival.
