Kermit Baker, PhD is a
Senior Research Fellow at Harvard University’s Joint Center
for Housing Studies, and is the Project Director of the
Remodeling Futures Program. This research effort, which
began in 1995, is the first comprehensive analysis of U.S.
remodeling activity ever undertaken by the Joint Center.
Its goal is to develop an improved understanding of the
dynamics of the U.S. repair and renovation industry so that
businesses can better take advantage of the opportunities
that this market offers.
Kermit also is the Chief
Economist for the American Institute of Architects in
Washington, D.C. In this capacity he analyzes business and
construction trends for the U.S. economy, and examines their
impact on AIA members and the architectural profession.
Prior to joining the
Joint Center, Kermit was vice-president and director of the
economics department at Reed Business Information where he
was responsible for industry forecasting. During his ten
years at Reed Business Information he developed the Top U.S.
Construction Market Report and served as editor of the
Building and Construction Market Forecast newsletter.
Kermit received his master’s degree in urban planning from
Harvard University, and holds a Ph.D. from Massachusetts
Institute of Technology in the same field. In 2006, Kermit
was inducted into the National Remodeling Hall of Fame by
the National Association of Home Builders. |

Thomas G. Harris, Jr. MBA
is a professor at
The Warnell School of Forest Resources, University of
Georgia, Athens, received a BS degree in forestry from North
Carolina State University and an MBA degree from The Wharton
School, The University of Pennsylvania. His program areas
are in Forest Business Management and Forest Resource Policy
and his research areas include: timberland investments,
timber supply and demand, forest industry structure, and
strategic planning. Professor Harris directs the timber
pricing service, Timber Mart-South. He is also a Registered
Forester in GA and a SAF Certified Forester. |

Harry L. Haney, Jr, PhD
specializes as a consultant on forest management focusing on
income tax, estate planning and financial analysis. He is an
adjunct professor at Clemson University and Garland Gray
Emeritus Professor, Department of Forestry, College of
Natural Resources at Virginia Tech, where he served on the
faculty in the for over 28 years. Dr. Haney’s research
focuses on the management of non-industrial family forests
with his current research examining local forestry laws,
ordinances, and regulations; timber income and estate taxes;
forest valuation; and conservation easements. |

Teddy Reynolds, BSF, CG -
President of Reynolds Forestry & Real Estate,
PLLC
Teddy Reynolds, RF, CG, ACF
is the President of Reynolds Forestry Consulting & Real
Estate, PLLC providing specialized forestry services in the
southeastern United States. Teddy is a practicing Certified
General Appraiser and registered forester in AR, TX, LA, OK,
MS and AL. Teddy received his Bachelor of Science in Forestry
at the University of Arkansas at Monticello in 1988; and
worked for Weyerhaeuser Company followed by founding
Reynolds Forestry in 1993. For the past 12 years Teddy has
hosted Timber Talk radio show and has been awarded “communicator of the year”,
two time “forester of the year”
and 2010 Columbia County Tourism recipient. Reynolds Forestry
is a 2010 finalist for the Arkansas Humanitarian Award for
its community involvement.
Teddy serves on the AFA board, SAUF board, HSDFI board and
as a City Councilman. Teddy recently completed shooting a
documentary film in Botswana, Africa where his parents
served as missionaries. Teddy lives on his tree farm in McNeil,
Arkansas and enjoys forestry, hunting, dog
tracking, fishing, scuba diving, documentaries, writing, traveling
and rehabilitating native wildlife.
